Florida Caverns State Park and Friends of the Park are pleased to announce that Saturday evening, October 24 the Tallahassee Astronomical Society will be returning to the park to provide opportunities for any interested persons to come and learn more about stars, planets, and other heavenly bodies.
The event will get underway around 6:00P.M. with a short lecture. Large powerful telescopes will be set up to allow folks to see many different celestial objects.
In the spring of this year the same group of volunteer astronomers came to the park and drew a crowd of 70 people. Similar attendance is expected for this weekends event.
This is a great and special opportunity for folks to enjoy a pleasant evening at the park and view stars and planets incredibly close-up. Kids are encouraged to bring their grand parents. It’s one of those occasions that you just know folks will remember for the rest of their lives.
If you have binoculars please bring them, but they are not required at all, the folks from Tallahassee are bringing plenty of nice telescopes.
